It is a solvent-system peak, not an impurity in the material under test, but it will be integrated by software that has not been told to ignore it — and on a short, early-eluting peptide there is real potential for it to land inconsistently relative to the analyte.
It is a defined chemical component. Any record of what a solution contained should name it. “Water” is not an adequate description of a solution that is 0.9% benzyl alcohol by volume, and a laboratory record that says only “water” cannot later be reconciled against an instrument trace that shows an aromatic peak.
Reading a vendor listing
The questions worth answering before purchase are narrow and factual. Does the listing state the preservative and its concentration, or only the product name? Does it state the fill volume rather than the vial size? Is the closure type described?
