What Sermorelin is
Sermorelin is the 29-residue N-terminal fragment of human growth hormone-releasing hormone, synthesized with a C-terminal amide and usually written GRF(1-29)NH2. Every one of its residues is a standard L-amino acid in the native order: the chain is simply GHRH cut off after arginine 29. The name is a nonproprietary designation for exactly that truncated sequence.
Being unmodified is what sets Sermorelin apart on our GHRH shelf. CJC-1295 is the same 29-residue frame with four substitutions, CJC-1295 DAC adds an extra acylated lysine on top of those, and Tesamorelin keeps all 44 native residues plus an N-terminal hexenoyl cap. Four materials, four masses, and names close enough that the full product name belongs in every notebook entry.

How Sermorelin is analyzed
The single sulfur in the formula belongs to methionine 27, and that residue sets the main impurity to look for: oxidation to the sulfoxide adds 16 Da and pulls the species slightly ahead of the main peak, so the leading edge deserves as much attention as the apex. Tyrosines at positions 1 and 10 and a phenylalanine at position 6 give a usable 280 nm signal, though purity is integrated at about 214 nm so that non-aromatic fragments are counted. At 29 residues the peak is broader than a short peptide’s, and wide-pore packings generally give better shape. Electrospray produces a series of multiply charged ions that deconvolute to roughly 3358.
Arginines and lysines along the chain carry counter-ions after purification, which is why net peptide content sits apart from chromatographic purity. The independent reverse-phase HPLC trace for Sermorelin 2mg is shown on this page; with no lot or batch code on the label, the vial’s crimp and cap color is the reference that connects it to that trace.
Research contexts for Sermorelin
- GHRH receptor binding and cAMP reporter assays in transfected cell lines
- Use as the unmodified GRF(1-29) reference when comparing substituted analogs
- Methionine oxidation studies and sulfoxide detection by LC-MS
- Enzymatic stability comparisons of native and modified GRF fragments in cell-free systems
This material is intended for bench research in vitro; it is not to be used in humans or animals.
Sermorelin questions
Is Sermorelin the same as CJC-1295?
No. Both are 29 residues long, but CJC-1295 carries D-Ala2, Gln8, Ala15 and Leu27 substitutions. The Leu27 change removes the methionine, so a sulfur-containing formula points to Sermorelin, not CJC-1295.
What does GRF(1-29) mean?
It denotes residues 1 through 29 of growth hormone-releasing factor, the older name for GHRH. The NH2 suffix marks the C-terminal amide, which differs from the free acid by about 1 Da.
Why might a spectrum show a peak 16 Da above 3358?
That is the signature of methionine 27 oxidized to the sulfoxide, the most common minor species for this sequence.
Buying Sermorelin 2mg in the USA
Sermorelin 2mg leaves a US facility with tracked delivery, and any order totaling more than $100 ships at no charge. Volume pricing is available to labs that run the same GRF(1-29) reference across many experiments. We supply research institutions, licensed researchers, universities and laboratory R&D buyers only. For the relationship between Sermorelin and the modified fragments, see What Is Sermorelin? Identity and Its Relationship to GRF(1-29).
Sermorelin 2mg is sold strictly as an in-vitro research chemical, not for human or veterinary use, with no handling or dosing instructions supplied.
